The Rhône Valley boasts a rich palette of grape varieties, including Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, and Clairette. In Châteauneuf-du-Pape, 13 grape varieties are used in the blending of wines. The fabulous history of this vineyard, revealed by the Popes when they settled in Avignon in the XNUMXth century, is recounted here.

Vine growing follows the rhythm of the seasons. From pruning the vines in winter to harvesting in autumn, the winemaker does everything possible to ensure the vine develops harmoniously throughout the year. There are several ways to manage a vineyard depending on the terroir, age and variety of the vines...
Le Brotte Wine Museum depicts this work with a particular focus on the grape harvest.
Once picked, the grapes are received in the cellar to be vinified in vats and then aged in wooden tuns. At the end of this process, the wines are assembled after long tasting sessions which take place in the vats, in the cool of the cellars. The Brotte Wine Museum presents each of these stages through educational and illustrated descriptions. It also explains the techniques for producing red wine, white wine and rosé wine, which are different for each of these colours.
